Hi, welcome to my website! My name is Julia Pearl. I have been in the
health and wellness industry for 14 years.  It all began when I became
pregnant with my first son, Jackson.  At the time I was not living a
healthy lifestyle but when I found out I was pregnant my whole life
shifted.  I suddenly became very interested in how to maximize my
health because I wanted to create a pristine environment to grow my
'spirit baby', as I called him.

I began taking yoga classes at the Holistic Education Center with
Collette Crawford in Seattle, Washington.  I went to a midwifery clinic
and began taking education classes on nutrition, visualization, natural
childbirth and breastfeeding.  We chose to work with Natropathic
Doctor Midwives at a birthing center for the pregnancy and birth. On
March 6th 1995 we had our sweet Jackson naturally as a water birth! It
was a truly life changing experience. I believe that giving birth can be a
spiritually enlightening experience when it is practiced as a natural
expression not a 'procedure'. In fact, all of the boys, Jackson, Malik
and Cameron were natural childbirths born underwater as water births.
Cameron was fortunate enough to be born at our home with our midwife!
It was such a blessing!

In 1995 I took my first yoga teacher certification training with Aadil
Palkhivala, a Senior Iyengar yoga instructor. I began teaching corporate
yoga and at health clubs with my sister, Lisa Takamiya. I did several
other trainings and workshops including another yoga teacher
certification training with Baron Baptiste in 1999.

Over the past 14 years I have studied with yoga masters from all over
the country. I have taken hundreds of trainings, classes and workshops
on yoga and meditation and  I am a certified yoga instructor.
However,
my biggest testimony to yoga is how I have chosen to live my life.  Yoga
is a daily practice, not an event.  It is not a weekend workshop or
certificate.  It is a discipline.

As Patahbi Jois so eloquently states it, "99% practice 1% theory".

One aspect of yoga is yoga postures or asanas. I love practicing asanas
however, I believe that all aspects of yoga (yoga asana, breathing
techniques, meditation, visualization, spiritual connectedness, gratitude,
relaxation and nutrition) is the reason for my healthy birth experiences,
my business successes, my energy level, my stamina, my mental clarity
and my continued personal growth.

From 1995 until this present day I have been fascinated with nutrition.
I have taken lectures and trainings from Ph'd's of holistic nutrition and
Chinese herbology. I have studied macrobiotics, food combining, raw
foodism, vegetarianism and veganism. I have given lectures on the immune
system, digestive system and holistic nutrition.

In the year 2000, I had my own health radio show called, "On Balance".
I interviewed leaders in the health industry.  Leaders such as John
Robbins, Howard Lyman and Marianne Williamson.

In January 2001 I opened my own wellness center in Phoenix, Arizona.
It was called Yoga Planet. It was a yoga studio and enrichment center.
We offered children's yoga, nutrition classes, massage, meditation and
all styles of yoga.

In the summer of 2002 we had to close our yoga studio and I chose to
bring my holistic knowledge into the 'real world' by joining my family in
their real estate consulting business .  I got my real estate license and
practiced real estate consulting for several years. I created a
networking and business training program called 'the abundance
connection' which was a forum to connect like-minded business
professionals and to learn techniques for enhancing our lives while
building our businesses.  I learned that I love public speaking and
coaching.

I love to combine holistic living with business entrepreneurship. Just as
I have always loved to practice Eastern principles of yoga and
meditation combined with Western philosophies of exercise. From 1995
until this present day I have been very active and involved in running,
aerobics and weight training.  I have run 3 half marathons, countless
5K's and 10K's and even a sprint triathalon.  Because I have always
loved to combine the best of the East and the West  I chose to pursue a
more formalized education to include the Western approach to wellness
as well as the Eastern. In 2006 I got certified as a fitness instructor
through a nationally accredited organization called AFAA. (Aerobics
and Fitness Association of America) I have taught everything from step
aerobics, Pilate's, and yoga at several health clubs around the valley. In
addition to teaching group fitness I also began doing personal training
with clients at several locations, including their home or office. My
clients love that I have the combined knowledge of the Eastern
principles of yoga, meditation and spirituality combined with Western
principles of weight training and fitness.

In January 2008 I had the opportunity to be an instructor at a local
technical college that was offering a fitness certification diploma
program. I taught extensive course work on subjects such as; anatomy,
physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, group fitness instruction, flexibility,
yoga, first aide and coaching & motivation and business planning. I was a
full time instructor at the college and it was a phenomenal experience
being able to train and mentor fitness professionals. I loved being able
to take all of my real world knowledge in health and wellness arena and
help future professionals capitalize on my experiences.

I received my personal training certification through ACSM (American
College of Sports Medicine). It is the 'gold standard' in the fitness
industry and I feel very good about being able to provide the necessary
knowledge and application of information to help my clients achieve their
optimum results.

I am currently available for private wellness consultations or private
personal training/pilates or yoga sessions in your home or your office
setting. My clients appreciate this unique approach to fitness coaching.
When I work with someone individually or in a group setting I listen
intently to what they want and to their personal goals. As a consultant in
their life I look at where they are now and where they want to go- which
creates a personalized program to fit their needs. To design the program
I tap into my vast experience and knowledge then apply it to their needs
and goals.  As you can see, health and wellness is a passion of mine and I
feel such gratitude to be able to share my experience, knowledge and
expertise with those who are truly ready to live their life with peace,
joy and vivacious health!!!

Hugs and smiles to you on your journey~
